About AJ Shine
WSOPHILLY.com is the brainchild of Joe Simmons / (stage name AJ Shine), a Hip Hop DJ, rapper, producer, radio and TV personality on the Philadelphia rap scene for the past 20 years.
While working as a DJ and video host on Drexel’s University campus and trying to jumpstart his own music career, AJ finally struck gold becoming the co-manager, producer and performer with the Grammy Award-winning Legendary Roots Crew.
AJ left the Roots after 6 years as a co-manager to pursue his own passion of becoming a producer. He worked as a Radio personality in Philadelphia at Power 99Fm and is the co-founder of THE COMEUP RAP show with DJ Cosmic Kev (one of the longest running rap shows in the country). His musical journey was interrupted by placing 4th in the Borgota Poker Open in 2008. He has played poker professionally in casinos all across America w/ multiple six-figure scores in tournament poker winnings over the past 15 years.
Since launching WSOPHILLY.COM, AJ has quickly made a name for himself by offering world-class production and insanely practical strategies for artist development.
